Mission and Ministry
Palma Ceia is a worshipping community rich in history and faithful to those in need in our own church family, the local community and supporting international partners. We have many ministries and committees focused on care and compassionate outreach.
Special Offerings are collected 4 times per year to benefit specific PC(USA) programs and our own local ministry partners. Information on each offering and the beneficiary(ies) are announced through church communications during each season of collection or donations.
Children, youth, and adults are all involved in our outreach ministries. Youth mission trips are offered each summer and other mission trip opportunities are organized based on the needs of our partners. Children are provided opportunities to learn and display compassion through special events and regular faith formation programs.
Within Our Walls
To reflect the healing compassion of Christ is a high calling. PCPC seeks to live into this call by providing comfort, support, and counsel during times of physical, emotional, or spiritual need through a number of Congregational Care programs such as: pastoral care, prayer requests, Stephen Ministry, CD Ministry, Prayer Shawl Ministry, and a variety of support groups. Care in the PCPC family/community also includes pastoral support, as well as education and fellowship opportunities.
Within Our Community
PCPC supports ministries of the Tampa Bay Presbytery such as Beth-El Farmworker Ministry and Cedarkirk Camp and Conference Center, as well as a wide variety of local ministry partners. These community non-profits and organizations provide diverse outreach in the Tampa Bay Area focusing on areas of need like homelessness, human trafficking, food and clothing, mentoring and tutoring, health care, emergency shelter, refugee assistance, affordable preschool, domestic violence, mental health, and addiction. PCPC supports these partners through directed gifts, donations, gifts of time, and engaging with these ministries in our community.
Beyond Our Borders
At PCPC, mission is global as well. International outreach is focused on the needs of our partners in Haiti, Uganda, Honduras, and Poland. PCPC also partners with other churches and organizations to provide support for special needs including responding to and supporting Presbyterian Disaster Assistance.
