The mission of the Congregational Care Ministry is to reflect the healing compassion of Christ. PCPC seeks to live into this calling by providing comfort, support and counsel during times of physical, emotional or spiritual needs through a variety of programs. Below are programs within our church community.
Pastoral Care-our pastors and staff regularly visit those that are sick, in the hospital or are home-bound. The staff also reaches out to our congregation through cards and phone calls to celebrate special occasions and provide support during difficult times or times of grief. If you or someone you know is in need of a visit from the Palma Ceia staff, please use the Contact form.
Prayer Request-an intercessory prayer sheet is created and updated on a regular basis. If you or a family or friend want to be placed on the prayer list, email prayer@palmaceia.org. Only the name of the person is shared and the prayer list is available in the church office, the narthex and the shelves in the gym.
Stephen Ministers–a group of trained caregivers ready to listen, care for and encourage individuals. They will pray with you to help you through whatever you may be facing. The one to one pairing with a Stephen Minister is free and confidential. To get more information or to request to speak to someone, email stephenministry@palmaceia.org.
Prayer Shawl Ministry-Care and the love of knitting are combined in this prayerful ministry that makes shawls for those that need comfort. Each shawl is started with prayers for the recipient and blessed before being given out. If you want to learn to knit, join this ministry or know of someone in need of a prayer shawl, contact Nicole Abdnour.
Flower Dedications – Flowers can be placed in the Sanctuary, Narthex or chapel and dedicated as a memorial or to celebrate a special occasion like a birth, baptism, marriage renewal or anniversary. The dedication is mentioned in the bulletin. Contact Cathy Chambers, cg3000@verizon.net or call 813-494-5550 to discuss a date and arrangement.
Support Groups – PCPC offers many different opportunities throughout the year to come together with others in our church family and community to discuss, support and pray for one another during difficult times. If you are in search of a specific support group, please contact receptionist@palmaceia.org.
