A note from Youth Chaplain Kenny Hubbell – May 12, 2021
This year has not been a simple one, and was certainly not our most gratifying one, but we have traveled through it with grace and we are better for it! Good things happened in this place and I am grateful for each opportunity we had to connect and grow throughout the year.
Regarding the summer here at PCPC, I share with you the decisions made by the Youth Committee:
– We will NOT be hosting our Disciple Now mission week or our High School mission trip this summer.
– We WILL be offering weekly service opportunities for both middle and high school students. Details about the specifics of these service opportunities will be emailed out in the coming weeks.
–We WILL be offering weekly fellowship opportunities aka ‘Fellowship Days’ for both middle and high school students with those details also coming to you soon.
– We will pivot from our Monday evening high school Bible study to a book study on Latasha Morrison’s “Be The Bridge” which considers the intersection of faith and racism and continues the important conversation on social justice. If you have a high schooler interested in being a part of this book study, please reach out to me via email or via my cell phone: (813) 480-2405.
– Finally, we will not be gathering middle schoolers to attend a summer camp together, however, if you would like to send your child to summer camp, I am happy to discuss with you the camps available to you.
I am looking forward to this summer and the chances to gather in service and in fellowship! Have a wonderful remainder of the school year and see you soon!
