Youth – 2022-2023

Summer Trips!

Summer trips at PCPC are the cornerstones of PCPC’s youth ministry program. While weekly programming is formative and great relationships certainly develop, it’s the summer trips that really make our community flourish.

Without fail, these shared experiences and the connections students make with each other provide an excellent foundation for the year ahead. It’s also the best chance students get in taking significant steps in their faith, how they come to know and understand God, and to experience what life looks like in a grace-oriented community.

We offer two middle school trips and two high school trips.

Please reach out to our Youth Director, Kate Donaldson — kate@palmaceia.org — with questions about the middle school trips and please reach out to Kenny Hubbell — ken@palmaceia.org — with questions about the high school trips

Be sure to see to the sign-up forms below for additional information.

Letter from Youth Director Kate Donaldson January 10, 2023:

Youth Group returns in our normal pattern: Middle School from 6pm-7:30pm in the gym and High School from 7:30pm-8:45pm in the youth room. We are starting this semester with a 5-week series titled, “What I wish I knew in Middle School/High School.”

Talking Pts. meets every Monday evening from 7:30pm-8:30pm in Eastminister 204 (couch room) for our high schoolers.

Confirmation Class is for 9th graders and up and begins on Sunday, January 22nd. Confirmation runs as a 6-week course from 10am-noon and culminates in a Confirmation Service where students are invited to join the church. Confirmation is one way in which we honor our baptismal vows — that we will raise up our young people in faith. In Confirmation, students will learn about tradition, theology, scripture, church history, and more. They will have a chance to ask big questions and grapple with the parts of faith that have been challenging to them. Confirmation continues to be an exceedingly formative part of our students’ faith journey and we encourage you to sign them up! Simply email ken@palmaceia.org to register them.

Please also see the below Spring Newsletter to read more about the programming options that we will be offering this semester!

Youth Group is on Wednesday evenings in the gym from 6:00pm-7:30pm for middle schoolers and from 7:30pm-8:45pm for high schoolers who meet in the Youth Great Room (Eastminster 206). We will not have Youth Group on 11/23.

Talking Pts. meets every Monday evening from 7:30pm-8:30pm in Eastminister 204 (couch room) for our high schoolers.

10-10:45: Formation X for middle schoolers in The Couch Room – EM 206.

Mondays:

A note from your Youth Leaders:

Week in and week out, we get to think, plan, and pray through what our young people are experiencing, managing, and needing.

It’s not easy being a teenager. We don’t forget or downplay the challenges that our middle and high schoolers are facing.

We are dedicated to walking alongside our youth and families in whatever season of life they are traveling through.

Please use us! Parents, talk to us about what’s been going on. Students, let us buy you a coffee or a milkshake. We want to hear about your life!

-Kenny and Kate
