PCPC’s Witness & Service Committee is starting its second year in partnership with the Hillsborough Organization for Progress and Equality (HOPE). Our first year partnering with HOPE provided opportunities for our PCPC congregation to join with 23 multicultural and interfaith congregations throughout Hillsborough County to promote justice, fairness, and the dignity of people. Many PCPC members and friends of PCPC were involved in HOPE’s annual process of identifying pressing issues in our community in need of HOPE’s advocacy, researching those issues, and, finally, bringing the issues before community leaders in HOPE’s culminating event – the Nehemiah Action. We are now at the stage of HOPE’s annual cycle where a fresh Listening Process will take place to discuss local community issues. The Witness & Service Committee is seeking additional leaders to serve as Team Members and Network Leaders. Read this letter from the Witness & Service Committee to learn more about the issues we were involved in this past year and how you can get involved! HOPE provides the opportunity to be the feet and hands of Jesus in our community.
