Rebecca Penneys Piano Festival July 28

Rebecca Penneys Piano Festival Ambassador Piano Concert Series!

The Rebecca Penneys Piano Festival (RPPF) returns for its seventh season.   The 36 students from 17 countries receive intense private study, daily master classes, unique legacy sessions, and the Ambassador Concert series in venues throughout Tampa, Clearwater, and St. Petersburg.

Traditional services, 8:30 and 11:00, Sunday, July 28, special music will be presented by pianist from the Rebecca Penneys Festival. They will also present a Vespers Concert  at 6:00 on July 28.

Founded by St. Pete Beach resident and Steinway Artist Rebecca Penneys as a tuition-free gift for aspiring collegiate pianists, RPPF is a nonprofit 501(c)3, funded entirely by donations.

Penneys was professor of piano at the Eastman School of Music from 1980-2017[1] and chairwoman of the Chautauqua Institution Piano Department from 1985 to 2012.[5] She now holds the title of Professor Emerita of Piano at Eastman School of Music. She was a resident artist as pianist-founder of the New Arts Trio at Chautauqua from 1978-2012. In 2013 Rebecca launched the Rebecca Penneys Friends of Piano (non-profit 501c3) and the Rebecca Penneys Piano Festival as a sequel to her well-known Chautauqua piano program.

The concert is free and open to the community.
