Peacemaking Offering 2022

PCPC will participate in the Presbyterian Church’s annual Peacemaking Offering from September 18 through October 2022. It is one of four special offerings collected each year.

This year our Peacemaking Offering originally was designated to support the Presbyterian Disaster Assistance’s response to flooding in the U.S. Now Florida is experiencing the devastation left behind from Hurricane Ian. On Sept. 28, 2022, the Session of PCPC approved amending the current offering to support relief efforts related to Hurricane Ian damage.

PCPC has been asked to collect hurricane supplies particularly for farmworkers in Immokalee, FL (just east of Ft. Myers Beach), and in Arcadia, where the Peace River has flooded. Our partner is our long-term partner, the Beth-El Farmworker Ministry (www.beth-el.org). Farmworkers typically live in trailers, and in more remote areas vulnerable to extended power outages, and standing water diseases. This group was hit hard by Ian. We are especially collecting batteries, canned food goods, water, tarps, diapers, and baby formula.

Items can be brought to the PCPC fellowship hall. We will load them onto the church bus and, if needed, a truck. We will deliver as Beth-El directs us.

The Fellowship Hall is open for drop-off 8:30am – 8:00pm Sunday through Friday.

Peacemaking begins with each of us. If we all do a little, it adds up to a lot!

Please give. Simply designate “Peacemaking Offering” on your contribution in the offering plate or online at palmaceia.org/giving.
