PCPC will participate in the Presbyterian Church’s annual Peacemaking Offering in late September through October 6, World Communion Sunday. One of four special offerings collected each year, the Peacemaking Offering this year is being designated for hurricane Dorian relief. Specifically, the offering will focus on the community of Marsh Harbour in the Bahamas. We have a special neighbor there, Kirk of the Pines Presbyterian Church founded with the love and work of our former pastor, Chuck Greenwood. The church was established with financial supported by PCPC.
The people and the island were ravaged by Dorian’s overwhelming winds and extended lashing. Images of the destruction are patently uncomfortable to view and hard to fathom. This offering will help plant the seeds to regenerate the community and our sister church. Your gift provides hope where it is hard to find in devastation that echoes down the years to come. As the Bahamian prime minister exhorted, the storm will have a generational impact. Your gift stands in the breach. Please give. Simply designate “Peacemaking Offering” on your contribution in the offering plate or online at palmaceia.org/giving.
