Annually the Social Work Committee hosts donation drives for local mission partners. During each collection period the specific needs are listed on the website events as well as at the collection bins around the church. Contact the church office for more information.
Faith Cafe’– (Year Round) An interdenominational feeding ministry for homeless men, women and children. The sponsoring churches keep the Angel Closet stocked with casual clothes, shoes, sleeping bags & blankets, winter clothing and toiletries year round for their guests in need. Items can be dropped off anytime of the year to the bins located outside Fellowship Hall.
Backpacks and School Supplies (Summer) Provides back to school supplies for the children in our FED (Feeding Every Disciple) program and the families in the Beth-El Farmworker community. The backpacks and supplies are blessed and distributed before school starts.
Just Elementary Winter Clothing Drive (Fall) Winter clothing drive to provide for the students in the impoverished neighborhood that attend Just Elementary. Since our winter clothing drive began, school attendance has increased significantly because the children have enough warm clothes to wear to school. Winter clothing, new or gently used, is collected for children ages 3-12 years old.
Beth-El Farmworkers Ministry Food Drive (Fall & Spring) Twice a year, PCPC seeks to stock the pantry at Beth-El for an entire month. Donations are based on the current needs of over 500 farmworker families who receive supplemental groceries once a week.
Christmas Opportunities to Give (Mid-Nov – Dec 24th) PCPC supports several Christmas Giving Opportunities for local and international outreach communities. Details for each ministry need are made available starting in mid-November.
- GIVING TREE: -providing gifts for children and families in Hillsborough county served by PCPC and partner agencies (i.e., FED, Guardian Ad-Litem and Beth-El) sponsored by the Social Work Committee.
- BOXES OF HOPE: provide a nutritious holiday meal for a PCPC FED Family or Metropolitan Ministries family of four who may otherwise be without food over the holidays. This collection is sponsored by the Social Work Committee.
- JOY GIFT OFFERING: One of PCPC’s 4 Special Offerings for a local mission partner in December. The Witness and Service committee determines the collection recipient and sponsors this offering.
- CHRISTMAS IN AFRICA: Purchase “gifts” for the people and community of Papoli, Uganda during the month of December. This program is sponsored by the Witness and Service Committee through Village Partners International.
