Knights Unite! At PCPC Sat., Aug. 8th

Friends and Knights,

I don’t know about you, but some days I begin to sink. I sink in the waters of chaos wondering if we are ever going to feel otherwise. When it feels like the world around us sinking as a nation, in our schools, and in our community, I wonder how we are to keep ourselves focused on Jesus – being storm-tossed together but not alone.

God promises to be with US and those storms will not destroy us as we are United. Our scripture this Sunday points us to wonder what we are using for our points of focus when we get that sinking feeling. I seem to need often reminders of how to re-orient towards God’s love found in Jesus Christ.

We have an opportunity this Saturday, August 8th at 11:30 am to come together u-knighted in our faith that still connects us as we navigate the ups and downs of the waters surrounding us. I’m helped by knowing there are others who encourage me to stay focused on who we are and whose we are. We know it is not easy for your family to make decisions about in person gatherings. We believe we have tried to make this event as safe as possible per CDC guidelines. We certainly understand if your family decides not to attend.

I’m thankful for those who encouraged all of us by preparing materials to engage in VBS this summer: Dream Team Leaders – Kerri Edwards, Jess Hayden, Erin Holcombe, Jana Alexander, Jason Fowler, Clare Seng, Jenelle Ferry, and Karyn Bersch and the larger VBS Dream Discernment team of Leah Maurer, Mary Taggart, and Lucy White under the Children and Families Team. We are also very grateful to all our families for participating in your own creative ways.

Even if you were not able to participate in any way this summer, we invite you to come and cool off on Saturday. We know it is not easy for your family to make decisions about in person gatherings. We believe we have tried to make this event as safe as possible per CDC guidelines. We certainly understand if your family decides not to attend. We trust that even though we are not always physically in the same space, we are spiritually united in Jesus Christ and we are always able to join together as a faith family around the Grace and love of God.

Click below to watch and read more details about how we will meet in a safe way at Saturday’s event in the church parking lot. You will find details on what to bring. You will also find a way to connect with options of links for this Sunday that we hope will help your family to see something from this passage in a new way.

U-Knighted in Christ,
