The Art of Hanging Together… when life isn’t
A study of 1 Corinthians – the isthmus of Corinth in Greece was the home of a wild city and a troubled church. The Apostle Paul helped establish that church and wrote to Christ followers in Corinth to help them grow in spiritual maturity. Multiple viewpoints, culturally-based “common sense”, random philosophical positions all competed for dominance in the minds of the people. Paul calls the community to trust in God’s wisdom and the Spirit’s presence. He challenges them to do the hard work of being a community of faith, but he leads them to a claim that they can stand on truth. The truth he lifts up to them is built on experiencing and expressing love to each other and love to the world.
