B.J. (Betty) Johns

B.J. grew up on a farm outside Murfreesboro, TN. She attended Middle Tennessee State University and later received a BS in Sociology and Criminology from Univ. of South Florida. She also received a Masters of Religious Education with a Major in Social Work (MRE/SW) from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY.

She served as a Social Worker for the Baptist Children’s Home in Lakeland, School Social Worker for Polk County School Board for 16 years and worked as Weekend Host at Cedarkirk Presbyterian Camp and Conference Center for 6 years. B.J. joined PCPC in 1993 and has been on staff since 2000 where her primary ministry focus has been senior adults and their caregivers, new members, hurting people, pastoral care and mission outreach.

B.J. enjoys nature, pottery, photography, her pets and spending time with friends.
