CHRISTMAS IN AFRICA
Looking for the perfect Christmas gift? Our Christmas in Africa program offers you a wide selection of meaningful gifts for your friends and family while you help the people of Papoli gain greater self-sufficiency.
When you give a goat, sheep, hen, cow or crop to a family they will give their first born or first harvest to another family so your gift will keep on giving. You can help feed children who come to the clinic or give school supplies to the children attending Papoli’s preschool and primary school. The members of PCPC have helped four students graduate from college. By donating to the scholarship program, you can help support 14 more students attend boarding schools and college. Many teachers and community leaders use bicycles as a means of transportation. If you purchase a bicycle it will help them serve the people of the village. Finally, many of the elderly widows care for several orphans due to deaths of their parents to HIV/AIDS. By purchasing a widow’s home, you help the village leadership build homes for these wonderful caring widows.
Brochures with further information and gift cards are available in the courtyard after services on Sunday. Please contact B.J. Johns, Church Social Worker, at 253-6047, ext. 234 with any questions.

JOY OFFERING for the BETH-EL FARMWORKERS
PCPC will collect the Joy Offering on Sunday, December 19. The Joy Offering, one of the Presbyterian Church’s four special offerings collected each year, has traditionally been split between pension funds for mission workers and assistance to ethnic ministries of the Presbyterian Church USA. This year, in keeping with the tradition of supporting ethnic ministries, PCPC will donate 100 percent of its Joy Offering proceeds to Beth-El Farmworker Ministry. Gifts to the Joy Offering will assist Beth-El in its mission to help “farm workers achieve self-sufficiency through its open opportunities to worship, its extensive educational programs, and the many services it provides to meet basic needs”. This year, in keeping with the tradition of supporting ethnic ministries, PCPC will donate 100 percent of its Joy Offering proceeds to Beth-El Farmworker Ministry.
