PCPC has a long legacy of walking together with local ministries that manifest the love of Jesus Christ and do that primarily with help of the community alone. The annual Witness Offering is a key way for you to be involved. Trust that your church has brought these ministries forward as ones that truly make a difference in people’s lives and do in the name of the Lord.
The Witness Offering is celebrated and received on Pentecost Sunday May 19, 2013 and will be totally directed to PCPC initiatives. Our members have supported many projects with amazing results in the name of Jesus through this offering. This year our theme is “Helping Hurting People”. We will be dividing the support raised between 3 local ministries that embody our theme and where members are active volunteering.
I Matter Too is a local non-profit that mentors and tutors orphans, abused, and at risk children. Their mentors and tutors are trusted adults who provide spiritual, emotional, academic and other assistance their students need and influence them in a positive direction. IM2 will be receiving volunteers to match with kids who need your love and leadership. They have a training session June 22 at PCPC Fellowship Hall from 8:30 – 12:30.
Judeo Christian Clinic provides free, quality, timely and compassionate health care to medically indigent residents of the Tampa Bay area who have no other resources for their health care needs. Clinic patients do not qualify for government funded programs. Most patients have income that falls between 100% and 200% of Federal Poverty level . This small amount of income is not enough to afford private health insurance and precludes Federal help. The clinic is totally funded by contributions.
Faith Café opened its brand new and incredible home April 8 2013. Now that we have a place to resume feeding the homeless, the next chapter in helping clients move to self-sufficiency is possible. Support from this offering will go toward operating expenses and missing interior components. PCPC has been blessed with talented, loving people who serve and contribute richly to those in need.
Supporting these groups helps the hurting in the areas of health, homelessness and childhood development. Please help make the 2013 Witness Offering a success. You can write Witness Offering on the memo line of a check and put it in the offering plate or return it to the church office.
