VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL 2012, June 11- 15, from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
PCPC’s VBS will be held from June 11-15 this summer. At SonRise National Park, kids will learn to trust Jesus as their all-powerful guide and Savior! Registration is $40 per child, with a $100 maximum per family. Nursery care/age-appropriate lessons will be available for all children of teachers/helpers aged infant-3 years for those who volunteer for a full week. We would be excited to have you as a teacher or helper, or to work in recreation, crafts or snacks. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact the 2012 VBS Director, Catie Witherspoon. MusiCamp 2012, June 11-17, 12:30 – 3:45 p.m.
The Music Department is excited to offer your child the opportunity to participate in a one week program of music, drama, costumes, sets, creativity and fun for rising 2nd graders through 6th grade. Participants actually learn a musical based on a Biblical story (music, script and all). The musical will be the message of the 9:45 and 11:00 a.m. services on Sunday, June 17. The cost of MusiCamp is $25 per camper; $50 per family (we need a separate check from VBS, please). KIDS ROCK! SUNDAY SCHOOL, Sundays 9:45-10:45
Sunday School is a wonderful opportunity for the children of our congregation to learn the word of God while spending time in fellowship with their peers. We believe that the story of what God has done in Jesus Christ to be of “first importance” for all generations and all times. In Christian Education it is our goal to hand on this story to those God has entrusted to us now!
GODLY PLAY, Sundays
Godly Play is PCPC’s answer to involving small children in part of the Worship service with an age appropriate second setting. Following “The Time with the Children” in worship at 8:30 & 11:00 a.m. Godly Play is a Montessori based teaching time of the great stories of our faith and an exploration of how liturgy, symbols and colors help us to be a part of telling God’s unending story. Godly Play is offered to children ages 3 – 1st grade. The Godly Play room is located on the 1st floor of Covenant Hall.
WELCOME TO WORSHIP (WTW), September 12, 19, 26 (11:00-1:00 on 2nd Floor Westminster Building)
Worship is the central act of the gathered community of God and the worship experience is essential for the formation of the identity as people of God. Children are, by their baptism, members of the people of God and at PCPC we believe children are welcome to worship with their faith family. This is a time in which the church seeks to assist parent(s) and their 2nd grader(s) in the discovery of how and why we worship.
THIRD GRADE BIBLE WORKSHOP
Presbyterians are people of The Book – and want our children to know the stories of our faith that are contained in the 66 books of the Bible. In the fall, each third grader is invited to attend the Bible worshop with their parents and then receive a Bible from the church. It is a special time for the children of our congregation.The Bible’s were be presented at all 4 services on Sunday, October 24.

Christian Life Enrichment Resources (CLER) is a Christian human sexuality class for all 5th grade boys and 4th and 5th grade girls and their parent(s). Classes are held in February each year. For questions, contact Linda Beckham.
