Lydia Bible Study Class is in EM302. This Bible study utilizes The Present Word study book in the Uniform Series, which is pub- lished quarterly by the PC(USA). The study for this quarter: “The People of God Set Priorities” Susan Barksdale leads today’s study “Love Builds Up ” 1 Corinthians 8.

* Christian Faith and EcologyChristian Faith and Ecology

Summer is a great time to examine how our faith connects us with creation, "the earth and all that is therein." (Psalm 24:1) Have we been good stewards of God's earth? Under the leadership of seminarian Will Wellman (B.S. Environmental Horticulture, M.S. Forestry UK, and M.Div Princeton) PCPC is offering a Sunday morning class on Christian faith and ecology. The class will examine how Christians are seeking to understand ecological issues better and discern what is a faithful response. We will examine Biblical and theological responses to ecological issues and learn what Christians around the world are doing regarding these issues. The class runs through August 23rd. It will meet in E307. Everyone is invited, and to drop in at any time. If you email your interest to Bruce Farnell it will help us create a class email list.

Faith in the Presbyterian Tradition led by Mike Peacock in C310. The class continues to examine the lectionary text and attempt to answer the question “what is this text supposed to mean to me today?” Drop-ins to this class are always welcome.

Vespers Service will be held in the Chapel at 6:00 pm. Vespers service is a service of quiet Scripture reading, prayer, and contemplation.

Time: 8:00 am

Throughout the remainder of the summer, the Pastors and Educators will offer a circle of prayer and scripture study each Monday at 8:00 a.m. and each Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. The circle will last an hour and will open with prayers, share in scripture reading and discussion using the Genesis stories from the lectionary for this summer, and close with prayer together. The study circle is meant to nurture prayer, scripture reading, and relationships. It meets in the Bride's Room next to the Chapel, and all are invited at any point across the summer. No reservation necessary. This is a great way to spiritually start your week or pause in mid-week summer prayer.

The Joyful Hands Puppet Ministry at Bel-Mar Presbyterian Church invites all interested youth between the ages of 10 and 16 to participate in a Puppet Workshop at Bel-Mar, to learn about puppet ministry on Tuesday nights during the month of July from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Please contact Bruce in the church office to sign up for this workshop. Participants will have the opportunity to participate as a puppetarian at a worship service if they choose to do so.
