Stewardship season is one of my favorite times of year. That might sound odd, because nobody likes talking about money! But really, I love stewardship season, and here’s why:
1) I love this season because it gives the church a chance to look back on all that God has done through PCPC in this past year. This is a time to reflect on the many blessings that God has given us in 2015. Among the blessings that I count: the incredible support of the FED community through numerous volunteers and mentors, the incredibly moving worship in traditional and contemporary worship that lead people into the presence of God, and the exploding youth program that sent 80 high schoolers to Jamaica for a mission trip. God works through people with open hearts, and it is clear that PCPC is full of people that are open to God’s guidance.
2) I love this season because it gives the church a chance to look forward to the next year of ministry at PCPC. What is in store for this church in 2016? I have no idea- but God does. And I can’t tell you how excited I am to walk with the people of PCPC in discerning where God is leading us this next year. I may not know the specifics, but I am confident that we will continue to offer educational programs that teach people of all ages about the Bible, mission programs that encourages us to help our neighbor, and worship experiences that give us the opportunity to praise our good God. 2016 is going to be great.
I encourage you to fill out a commitment card today and to pledge to give your heart over to how God wants to use YOU in this community in the next year. Visit the giving page for information on fulfilling your pledge or to set up online giving. Thank you for being a part of PCPC.
